Molecular Structure:

Description:
Fosinopril is a phosphinic acid-containing ester prodrug that belongs to the angiotensin-convertingenzyme (ACE) inhibitor class of medications. It is rapidly hydrolyzed to fosinoprilat, its principleactive metabolite. Fosinoprilat inhibits ACE, the enzyme responsible for the conversion of angiotensin I (ATI) to angiotensin II (ATII). ATII regulates blood pressure and is a key component ofthe renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS).
Application:
Fosinopril is used for treating high blood pressure alone or with other medicines. It is used along with other medicines to manage heart failure. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Fosinopril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It works by relaxing blood vessels. This helps to lower blood pressure.
